Our method is to match each claim with an appropriate source and state uncertainty plainly.
Source hierarchy
We give priority to official public-health and food-safety agencies, recognized standards bodies, educational institutions, ingredient manufacturers for product-specific instructions, and established culinary references. A source is chosen for the claim it can support rather than for brand recognition alone.
Food safety and allergens
Useful official references include the U.S. Food and Drug Administration guidance on raw flour, Health Canada egg safety guidance, the UK Food Standards Agency food hygiene resources, and allergen information from Food Standards Australia New Zealand and the European Food Safety Authority.
Measurements and equipment
When a recipe or appliance provides its own weight, pan, oven-mode or safety instruction, that information takes priority over a general conversion. Our browser tools explain their assumptions and limitations rather than claiming universal precision.
World dessert coverage
Regional dessert pages are introductions. They recognize variation and avoid presenting one recipe as the definitive version for an entire country or culture. More specific claims should be checked against sources connected to the relevant tradition.
Review and updates
Pages may be revised for clearer wording, corrected calculations, improved links, better accessibility and changes in official guidance. Evergreen does not mean never reviewed.
