Berry Yogurt Parfaits

A quick layered dessert with yogurt, berries and crisp oat crumbs.

Parfaits are assembled rather than baked and work well for small portions. Keep components separate until close to serving for the best contrast.

Kitchen safety: Use clean equipment, heat protection and appropriate supervision. Do not taste raw flour-based batter or dough.
Yield: 6 servings Preparation: 20 min Baking/cooking: 0 min Equipment: Six small glasses

Ingredients

  • 500 g plain or vanilla yogurt
  • 350 g mixed berries
  • 30 g honey or maple syrup, optional
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 150 g granola or toasted oat crumble
  • Fresh mint or extra berries for garnish, optional

Method

  1. Rinse fresh berries as appropriate and dry them carefully. Cut large berries into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Stir optional sweetener and lemon zest into the yogurt.
  3. Layer yogurt, berries and granola in clean glasses.
  4. Repeat the layers and finish with a small berry garnish.
  5. Serve immediately, or refrigerate without the final granola layer and add it just before serving.

Useful notes

  • Use a dairy-free yogurt formulation if needed and verify all labels.
  • Frozen berries should be thawed safely and may create a softer, juicier layer.
  • Granola can contain nuts, gluten or other allergens; check the package.

Storage

Keep refrigerated and consume promptly. Granola softens during storage, so add it at serving time.

Before serving

Check the texture, temperature and storage conditions. Identify relevant allergens for anyone sharing the dessert, and follow local food-safety guidance.
